If you can mount it in a way that hides the wires in the ceiling or some place way out of reach, and couple it with a nice memory card, it should do the trick. So, if you're worried about battery life & constant recording, I would suggest the Outdoor Cam Pro tbh. Out of all of the cameras, I like this one the most, apart from the wired part ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It picks up motion & sound just as well as the wireless ones too. I also have a wired Eufy camera, that 's supposed to be for outdoor (Outdoor Cam Pro), but I leave indoor, but facing out a window and that records 20 second clips, unless I choose continuous record and get a larger GB memory card. You'll receive plenty of notifications about what it picks up (I usually get alerts for trees moving around bc of the wind most of the time). You can set the sensitively (1-10) and even detection zones to how you like. For motion detection, it's actually not that bad. I have wireless Euf圜am 2 Pro's and can confirm that the cameras only records when it detects motion, but only 20 second clips. Or the middle ground with Eufy with a little bit of local storage.Īny suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Ĭan't speak for Swann, but I also considered them before going with Eufy. Since the car got stolen right under the nose of the cameras I’ve been really tempted to go Swann (or similar) to have a 2TB constant recording and the cloud option via Dropbox. I’m not sure if that is still the right approach for me. I’ve looked online a lot and Eufy/Arlo have a lot of supporters, provided the wifi and only turn on when a detection occurs works for you.

Now I’m considering a Swann PoE system or swapping Arlo with Eufy due to the local 16gb storage which will at least give me some continuity. This coupled with the extremely high costs for the subscription and the fact that my two front cameras have a battery life of approximately 5-6 weeks before needing to be recharged, I’ve basically lost all goodwill I had with Arlo. The above issue culminated in both Arlo cameras not even detecting a thief who subsequently stole my car from the carport. They keep dropping out during the night but during the day they are perfect.

I’ve had a recent experience with a set of Arlo cameras and I was very disappointed.
